Pre-Prep pupils celebrated International Teddy Bear Day on 9th September.
Nursery and Reception enjoyed a range of bear-themed activities, including teddy bear sorting, creating teddy bear collages and pictures, going on a teddy bear hunt and sharing lots of lovely stories all about bears.
The day provided Year 1 with the perfect introduction to their exciting new topic, 'A World of Bears'. They enjoyed making and, of course, eating delicious teddy bear toast, they used teddy bears to create pictograms in their maths lesson, and became scientists during a fun science investigation to discover the best material for keeping teddy dry.
The science activity provided a fantastic introduction to scientific enquiry in an engaging and practical way. The children demonstrated excellent teamwork as they worked collaboratively in groups, sharing ideas, making predictions and discussing their findings.
To end the day on a high note, Year 1 gave a delightful performance of 'The Bear Went Over the Mountain', accompanied by Mrs Martin on the ukulele.
